Initially, Andrew focused on the chorus of the song, with the idea of building everything around that. He wanted it to represent a very dark and despairing lyrical story but covered by a paradoxic pop vocal hook to allow the listener to enjoy it for either its happy surface or appreciate its dark layers and foundations.
The song vocally was inspired by the new Scottish pop icon “Lewis Capaldi” after one of his live shows in Glasgow. Andrew was so blown away by the emotion behind his lyrics and the absolute hooks that make them soar. That is something he tried to develop in “Deeper”, too.
After presenting his track to Bliss Corporation, Elton Ariz took care of creating a mix that drifted away from the pop hook towards some Tropical House vibes.

Andrew Brien is a songwriter/music producer (26 years old) from Glasgow, Scotland who has been songwriting seriously since the age of 16. Andrew has released a solo album, 3 EPs from different local bands and has enjoyed playing live across the Glasgow music scene for many years. More recently Andrew has left the world of live performance to focus on his true passion: songwriting. Self-taught in the art of music production only in the last few years, Andrew has used his new production tools to explore the world of fresh new digital sounds whilst combining the same songwriting talent that he has developed across the last 10 years. This allows Andrew a greater reach of musical avenues and genres to explore and is allowing him to also feature local up and coming vocal talent through his creations. His song “Deeper” is only his second offering under the newly created musical project ABProductions - with more material in the pipeline Andrew Brien is one to watch.
Rob Walker:
Rob Walker is a singer songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland who has had success with his band "A Day Overdue" between 2009-2016. A Day Overdue did thousands of sold out shows up and down the UK and released many singles and an album - "Until Life Do Us Part".
Rob has featured on many artists tracks with his infectiously catchy songwriting and powerhouse vocals. His debut solo single "Never Too Late" will be released worldwide on the 9th of December.
Fun fact: Rob is the cousin of 80s pop hit maker "Dave Stewart" who had worldwide success in the British pop group "The Eurythmics".
